Certified WorkAbility Examiner

This certification recognizes occupational health professionals such as Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists or Athletic Trainers who satisfy the following:

  • Completion of the WorkAbility Certification Seminar that includes: Part 1 – Worker Fitness Screening & Functional Job Analysis; and Part 2 – Functional Capacity Evaluation and Progress Reporting
  • Satisfactory performance on videotape analysis of Worker Fitness Screens
  • Satisfactory performance on two (2) Comprehensive FCEs
  • Satisfactory performance on two (2) Ergonomic FCEs (Job-specific FCEs) that include a WorkerFIT Job Analysis

Following completion of the WorkAbility Certification Training, participants will receive a certificate of training that awards continuing education credits and recognizes them as a trained WorkAbility Examiner. After gaining experience with WorkAbility reporting applications and doing a minimum of 5 Comprehensive and 5 Ergonomic FCEs, the professional may contact WorkAbility Systems to request an application packet for certification. Certification is awarded after peer review of functional capacity evaluation and functional job analysis reports to demonstrate competency of WorkAbility Examiner skills. The entire application packet will be completed including a list of the 10 FCEs which were completed. WorkAbility Systems will choose 2 Comprehensive FCEs and 2 Ergonomic FCEs for review.

Certified WorkAbility Screener

This certification recognizes health and wellness professionals such as Physical Therapy Assistants, Nurses and Fitness Trainers that satisfy the following:

  • Completion of complete Part 1 – WorkAbility Fitness Screening & Functional Job Analysis of the WorkAbility Certification Seminar
  • Satisfactory performance on videoanalysis of Worker Fitness Screens
  • Satisfactory performance on two (2) WorkAbility Fitness Screens
  • Satisfactory performance on two (2) WorkerFIT Job Analyses

Following completion of initial training, participants will receive a certificate of training that awards continuing education credits and recognizes them as a trained WorkAbility Screener. After gaining experience with WorkAbility Fitness Screening and Functional Job Analysis, the professional may request and complete an application packet, submitting a list of five (5) Worker Fitness Screens and five (5) WorkerFIT Job Analyses. WorkAbility Systems will choose 2 Worker Fitness Screens and 2 WorkerFIT Job Analyses for peer review.
